Starter: how has advertising changed over the past twenty years? If I wanted to advertise a show like Doctor Who or X-Factor, which media platforms are available to me in order to get the best coverage. Synergy .  Companies that are both vertically and horizontally integrated are able to create synergy across their output.  This means they're able to promote their output- for example, Doctor Who, in an efficient and profitable manner, whilst at the same time creating a recognisable brand.
